Louise and Tam said their vows during a beautiful wedding at Fulham Palace on the hottest day ever recorded for October 1st in British History. The rain plans were quickly tossed out the door and over-heating plans were being discussed. The bride is English and the groom Australian so they fused the two cultures together to celebrate their lives coming together. This wedding had a great amount of personal detail and every part of the decor was meaningful for both the bride and groom.
Welcome bags: These contained various elements from the British and Australian cultures
Ceremony: Macaroons were placed on each seat since the couple got engaged in the romantic city of Paris. An opera singer and pianist performed for 25 minutes before a grand procession took place, To top it off, the groom’s brother sang a personal song for the couple.
Stationery: They ordered stationery from Dottie Creations for just about every part of the day, and it was gorgeous! Other than your typical wedding stationery (order of service, menus, table names, place cards) there were large menu boards for the canape/cocktail reception, menu boards for the evening buffet, and numerous cards for the open bar which was serving three signature cocktails and a fully open bar. I should also mention that the tables were named after the groom’s favourite pubs!
Lucky Dip: The Australians like to play a game called “Lucky Dip” so the groom didn’t think twice about doing this at his wedding. He wrapped dozens and dozens of small gifts and threw them into a large basket with styrofoam popcorn for guests to fish into and win a prize!
Cake Station: The bride’s mother is a professional cake baker and even won the Great Cake Bake! She put on her chef’s hat and baked five exquisite cakes for the cake station. Along with the cake she made six different flavours of frosting and three types of jam so guests could mix and match flavours throughout the evening.
