Fulham Palace weddings

One of my most memorable weddings was a Fulham Palace wedding with Kayte and Tim this past May. They have a little girl so the day was filled with love, little ones, pink rubber ducks, champagne, and gorgeous flowers.

There were over 20 vendors involved and it came together perfectly on the day. The bride had a beautiful gown made by Stewart Paravin, the lush flowers were created by Mary Jane Vaughan, and the grand cake was designed and made by Linda Fripp.

Wedding at One Whitehall Place

This gorgeous and FUN couple live in the US but tied the knot in London where the bride grew up. The bride has been living in the US for over 10 years but decided a London wedding would be exceptionally fun for all their US friends, but be equally as special for her- and the groom loved the idea of a quintessential London wedding! It was perfect. The  wedding at One Whitehall Place commenced at 3pm however, the bride and groom decided to break tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony, and their phenomenal wedding photographer, Kerry Morgan, took them on a London shoot a couple hours before the ceremony. See photographs below, all taken by Kerry Morgan.

Newly Engaged

When you’re newly engaged it can be frightening thinking about all the tasks you need to undertake. One of the first things you’ll do is find a venue to hold your ceremony and reception. The type of venue can range from a castle, to a hotel, to a gallery, or a stately home. You need to make sure the venue will make you feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy on the biggest day of your life.

A few things to look out for before singing a venue contract are:

1. Minimum numbers. Are you required to cater for a certain amount of guests at your wedding?

2. What are the rules and restrictions on music, entertainment, or additional suppliers? If you dream of a 10-piece band and find that the venue has a music limit which only allows for a 3-piece, you’ll need to move on to another venue

3. What times do you have the room(s) for? If a lot of decorating or production will go into your event make sure your vendors will have enough time to set up. Also, find out what time you must vacate the venue.

4. Are you the only wedding on the day?

5. Exactly what’s included in the hire fee/package? Linens, cutlery, tableware, tables, chairs, etc. Are any decorations included such as candelabras, tea lights or chair covers?

My top tip for you Americans getting married in London is to choose a venue with history, a venue that has character, a venue that has antiques and other historical features, and a venue that is representative of British History. We don’t have these old historic building in the States and if you have numerous American guests flying over to celebrate your marriage, they will thoroughly enjoy a day in history.
