Wedding planning tips- where to splurge
Wedding planning tips
Happy 2012 everyone! I hope you had a lovely Holiday season and have a list of achievable goals for 2012. I started a wheat free diet today and hope to maintain it as long as possible!
To kickstart your wedding plans this year, I’ll go over some wedding planning tips that will help you when budgeting for your event. Today I’ll discuss areas where you should splurge and next week we will go over areas it’s okay to save and make cut backs.
Wedding splurges:
1: Venue/Staff- a venue and their staff can make or break the wedding celebration. Impeccable service is a must for a flawless and memorable event. Go with a venue that has wedding experience, and is a venue that you love from the minute you step foot through the door.
2: Photographer- your wedding photos will be your longest lasting memories. The day goes by in a flash and you won’t get to see everything that happens so the best way to store memories is through a storybook album designed by a professional photographer.
3: Food- treat your guests to exquisite food throughout your wedding. A large portion of your celebration is centered around food and drink so do it right when you have your chance. Bad food will be remembered by your guests, so pay higher fees for good food and a pleasant dining experience.
4: Good music- Music is the soul of a wedding. A good live band will always liven the atmosphere, and a good DJ should be able to get guests on the dance floor. To keep your guests in good spirits and the dance-floor full, this is one area you don’t want to cut corners.
5: Guest transportation- depending on the location of your wedding, you may need to provide transportation for all your guests from both the ceremony to the reception and the reception back to a central location. Offering transportation guarantees less stress for your guests and you can expect more people on the dance floor since they can enjoy a drink as a sober driver will be collecting them.
6: Jewellery- feel free to splurge on Jewellery ladies! A nice pair of diamond or pearl earrings, a dazzling necklace, or both (!) – purchase something that complements your wedding gown. Faux Jewellery looks tacky and can stick out like a sore thumb in wedding photos. A pair of pearl earrings is a classic piece of Jewellery that you can wear time and time again, day in and day out, so if you’re on a tight budget be wise with your purchase and think about how you can use it in the future.
