Wedding at One Whitehall Place

This gorgeous and FUN couple live in the US but tied the knot in London where the bride grew up. The bride has been living in the US for over 10 years but decided a London wedding would be exceptionally fun for all their US friends, but be equally as special for her- and the groom loved the idea of a quintessential London wedding! It was perfect. The  wedding at One Whitehall Place commenced at 3pm however, the bride and groom decided to break tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony, and their phenomenal wedding photographer, Kerry Morgan, took them on a London shoot a couple hours before the ceremony. See photographs below, all taken by Kerry Morgan.

3 Top Tips for First Dance

The first dance is one of the wedding memories you’ll never forget. Five years after my own wedding, I can still remember every moment from my first dance to Alison Krauss’ song, “When you say nothing at all”.  Below are three top tips for a memorable first dance:

1) Make it meaningful. Almost every couple has a song that makes them think of one another. If the song is suitable for a first dance, give it a shot as after all the first dance is for the two of you, not for your guests.

2) Listen to the lyrics. It’s important to listen to the lyrics in a song before making the decision on your first dance. Some songs seem sentimental and romantic but the lyrics portray a different image.

3) Don’t stop dancing. If you have a rehearsed dance routine that doesn’t go to plan on the day, don’t stop dancing! Either start the routine from the beginning or bust your own moves- either way have a back up plan in case this happens.

American wedding in UK

S and B, Americans in London

The bride is from South Carolina and the groom from North Carolina. They reside in London and chose to have their wedding in the UK so their friends and family could visit the place where they fell in love. They’re a traditional couple and wanted to have classic and sophisticated elements throughout the wedding. The wedding was just outside the city of London at the beautiful Wrotham Park, so they wanted to add a touch of the country and therefore incorporated bundles of lavender throughout. The colour scheme was predominately white with accents of purple.

Below pictures taken by FlutterFly Events. We’re still waiting on professional photographs and will post them shortly!

Destination weddings in London, New Yorkers in UK

Over here at FlutterFly Events we’ve been so busy organising weddings and events that we haven’t posted many pictures after the big day. Some clients understandably ask us to treat their celebration with complete confidence, but please enjoy our below portfolio from those who have kindly given us permission to have a sneak preview into their special day.

W and J, New Yorkers in London

This couple lives in NYC and worked with me from across the pond for their destination wedding in London. We incorporated British culture and goods into the wedding day, but of course they received the service and style you would expect from the States as they worked with me, an American wedding planner in London! There were 110 guests from America, France and the UK who were amazed by this beautiful wedding at One Great George Street.
